Show notes

Welcome to Series 1, Episode 3 of The Farmette Podcast.

Today we are joined by proud Irishman and one of the best jockeys of his generation, Oisin Murphy.

He was crowned Champion Apprentice in 2014, and has gone on to become British Champion Jockey 5 times, with 10 group 1 wins. His life and career have played out very publicly, with moments of intense scrutiny during some of his hardest times — and yet he’s continued to show resilience, confronting those moments and carrying on.

In Oisin's book ‘Sacrifice’, an unusually honest diary style account of what life is really like at the very top of profession flat racing - and in this Podcast he really opens up about his daily experiences.

Oisin is not just a jockey but an exceptional horseman who enjoys many different equine disciplines and has enjoyed the great outdoors ever since he was a child.

We hope you enjoy this honest and engaging conversation about his rural life.
